healthy recipes peanut butter cookies
Is this recipe for PB cookies totally unhealthy?
1/2 Cup margarine
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 granulated sugar
1tsp. vanilla
1 cup peanut butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup bran
3/4 cup rolled oats
1 tsp. baking soda
I loooove peanut butter cookies, but I began eating healthier last Monday (salads, portion control, etc) and want to continue eating healthy. What do you think of this recipe as for as the healthiness goes? I know eggs, oats, and the actual peanut butter can be healthy.
Thanks for all the input and advice everyone. I think I will cut down the margarine to a 1/4, the sugars to 1/2, 1 cup for the flour, and the peanut butter to 3/4.
The recipe sounds yummy! Make sure the margarine you use has no trans fat or as little as possible. Also, you can cut down on the sugar or use stevia to replace it. A few cookies every now and then will not make you unhealthy. These sound really wonderful! Enjoy your cookies! You seem to be getting some good things like bran and oats in there too. I do not think these cookies are such a bad occasional treat.
